BEACHWOOD SPARKS // BLACK DIAMOND (2006)

Freshman year, I was obsessed with three songs: “Black Diamond” by Beachwood Sparks, “Perfume” by JAMC, and “Everyone Says” by BJM. Come to think of it, they all share this light, melancholy psychpop sound that hardly exists anymore.

Jimmy from Beachwood Sparks use to work at KXLU when I was there; he was revered at the station,  which is kind of funny because shortly after, the station manager (my boss) would graduate and join Queens of the Stoneage.  I regret being so retarded around him, like talkin’ about the time I smoked pot with Ariel Pink’s bassist or whatever. OMG!@$#

It was only because I had a massive crush. And still do. Maybe.
